5 months! WHAT?!

I have 5 months on the mission. I cant believe it! Seriously.

This past week it rained like crazy. Within like 2 minutes of it raining we were just completely soaked. It is so nice. But it started getting kind of cold... It was super weird to feel cold in La Gomera. Hahah. But like right now it is hot as ever. It looks like it might rain today but we will have to see.

Something super awesome that I have been studying a little bit is about sacrifices. There are two example in the bible. The story of Abraham in Genesis 22 and the story of the joven rico ( I cant remember how to say it in english)  in Luke 18. These examples are different. Abraham was willing to give up everything and anything for God and the joven rico wasnt willing to even give up his worldy possessions to inherit the kingdom of God. I like to think about where I am at in these two examples. What am I willing to sacrifice? Am I more like Abraham or the joven rico? How can I be more like Abraham? Another example of sacrifice is Jesus Christ. His sacrifice is the greatest of all. None of us are as willing to accept the will of God and sacrifice like Jesus Christ, but how can we work on this trait more in our lives?

I love you all so much! And hope you have a good week!!

Buenas!!!

Buenas!!!!

It finally rained yesterday. It rains in all the surrounding areas of La Gomera, but it doesnt rain in La Gomera. Hahaha. But it finally rained! And it felt so good! I hope that it keeps raining.

This last week in church we found a miracle. There is a kid that has attended Church 4 times recently. His name is Daniel. I thought he was a member but nope. The president of the young mens told us that we needed to talk to him because he is super awesome. So we did and on Monday we taught him and he is SO AWESOME. He is 17 years old and is seriously so awesome. He is so excited to learn more and has a baptism date already for the 31 of May. We taught the Restoration and the spirit was so strong. He is so prepared it is crazy. At the end of the lesson his little sister came up to us and she is 12. She said.. I have a question. Can I go to your church too? And we said.. Of course!! It was amazing. We are visiting them again on Thursday!

I love you all so much!! Have a good week and always remember how much God loves you and that He is always there for you. Always rely on Him and trust Him in all that you do.

Hola!

Another week here in the oven!! It is amazing here. We are seeing miracles everyday.

On Sunday Byron and Milvia were baptized. While filling the pila the water was a little dirty. We told them and said we can still do the baptism if you want but you guys get to choose. And Hermano Byron said... It doesnt matter what the water is like. We are getting baptized today. It is not important. It was amazing for me to see this. His desire to follow Jesus Christ. I love the mission. I love seeing how the true gospel of Jesus Christ changes lives. And I know that it is the atonement that is really changing them.

I am so grateful for the atonement. Because I can also see how the atonement is changing me. Everyday. People say that the mission changes missionaries a lot. But it is not the mission. It is the atonement of our Savior, Jesus Christ, that changes us here on the mission. On the mission and after the mission and everyday of our lives we should be applying the Atonement in our lives to be better. To change to become more like Jesus Christ. I am not the same person that I was before my mission. And I hope that tomorrow I wont be the same that I am today. Because we should constantly change. We should constantly better ourselves through the atonement.

I love you all!!

Hermana Dibb

This Week!

So we had cambios on Wednesday and my new companion was Hermana Alvarado. She is from Chile. But after a few days in La Gomera with the hot sun, she had to leave because she has allergies to the sun! And now my companion is Hermana Martinez. We entered the field together! So we are learning and growing together! She is from El Salvador and is super pilas! Sometimes we dont really know what we are doing, but we are learning. We both just left our training! Hahah.

It is starting to rain!! Woo. Seriously. One night it rained like crazy. We were walking in the street with water almost up to our knees! It felt so good!! It usually rains starting at like 5 or 6. Or in the night. And our roof is like tin kind of and so it is so loud when it is raining hard! It even wakes me up! And I sleep through like everything. Hahah.

Something I have been thinking about a lot is obedience. Sometimes we try to justify our actions. Our reasons why we dont obey a certain commandment with exactness. But I have been thinking and there is no reason to do this. A commandment is a commandment for a reason. There are no ifs or buts. Our Heavenly Father knows what we need to do to be happy so he gives us commandments. He also gives us agency. We get to choose! Agency is a gift from God. What we do with our agency is how we demonstrate our love for our Heavenly Father. If we are grateful for all that we have we will obey with exactness.

I love you all so much and hope you have a good week!!

Love,
Hermana Dibb
